Word Alive Teaching

Tony and his family moved to Hampshire in 1971. He left school at 16 and gained a three year electrical apprenticeship. He did an Open University course for a further two years and gained an OND and HND in electrical engineering. He also became a qualified carpenter. Tony has worked many years as a self-employed builder and renovator. In his free time Tony became a DJ in 1976 joining hospital and local radio in and around Hampshire. He also undertook mobile disco work. He then moved into the cabaret circuit as a compere and was involved in many shows such as Annie, Mamma Mia, the Patsy Cline Story, the travelling show "That'll be the day" not forgetting a TV show called "Jobs for the girls". Tony has been married and divorced twice and has two children from his second marriage. During his time as an entertainer he turned to alcohol and became an alcoholic. This went on for fifteen years until three years ago Tony encountered an organisation called Teen Challenge. That turned his life around and he asked Jesus to be his Lord and Saviour. He has now been dry for those three years and is enjoying life as a Hope FM presenter in Bournemouth. He is now himself a Teen Challenge volunteer and has joined joined the theatre group Stage on Fire as a sound technician. Tony is calling on the very gift God has given to him to bring you very best in community radio. Thank you all for taking time to read this short biography and may you all be blessed as he has blessed. Amen
