Blair Crawford

Blair is Hope FM’s Founder and President. Having served the YMCA in a career spanning 40 years Blair is now retired but continues to help manage Hope FM including regularly presenting programmes on the station. He is married to Jan and together they have four grown up children and to date five grandchildren. Blair’s broadcasting career started in the city of Sheffield when he was appointed religious producer at commercial radio station Radio Hallam. He held this post for a period of seven years before leaving to take up the post of Chief Executive of YMCA Bournemouth.

From 1993 and after a series of broadcasting twice yearly 28-day periods Hope FM was granted a Community Radio Licence in 2007. The station is now independent of YMCA Bournemouth and a registered charity in its own right.
