Since 2007, Hope FM has been delivering a mix of music and uplifting programs to the communities of Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, and beyond. As a community station, Hope FM provides more than just great music, news, and local insights; it serves as a platform for the community, collaborating with local charities, schools, and businesses to make a positive impact.

Mission

Hope FM is dedicated to empowering the community by offering opportunities for involvement through free radio training, school work experience placements, and volunteer roles. Wee strive to serve the whole community, regardless of faith, by highlighting the positive and uplifting stories that make a difference in people’s lives.

Gordon Thorn

Gordon joined the Hope FM family in early 2019.

His life was transformed when, age 11, he ‘accidentally’ attended a Luis Palau Christian mission at a London football stadium. He only went as he had a crush on a girl who was going. She didn’t show up and he listened, as God’s amazing love was explained.

He married his childhood sweetheart and now has two teenagers. Before moving to Dorset he spent 10 years leading a church in London. Gordon says “I love the bay area and it’s a privilege to live and broadcast here. My heart is that on my show we’ll play some great music, bring a bit of joy, some laughs and lots of God’s love.”

Gordon is one of the hosts of The Hope Twenty Chart Show, and interviews some of the biggest and brightest names from the world of Contemporary Christian Music on The Artist Interview.

Gordon became the chairman of Hope FM in 2025.

Ryan Boydon

Ryan has been with the station since 2009, starting out as one of our youngest ever presenters.

He continued presenting throughout his years of study at Bournemouth University where he studied a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Radio Production.

In the week he works as a Technical Producer at Times Radio, and on Saturday's he presents the Saturday Breakfast Show on Hope FM.

Ryan became a trustee of Hope FM in 2025.
